Hi,
I would like to understand the Insertion Loss to % Conversion.

I know insertion loss is expressed in dB, While i could not able to calculate how much efficient my transformer is.

I have transformer with 0.75dB Insertion Loss.

Would love to understand the relation between Insertion Loss VS % in loss?

How to calculate the same?
 

In a RF transformer the Insertion Loss represents the amount of power dissipated by the transformer when it's operated in input and output matched conditions. Under these conditions, ideally, the output power is the same as the input power. In real world some power is instead lost in the transformer.

in dB:
IL=10*log10(Pin/Pout)

That means

Pin/Pout = 10^(IL/10) thus: efficiency = Pout/Pin = 10^(-IL/10)

in your case efficiency = Pout/Pin = 10^(-0.75/10) = 0.84 that is 84%
