about pic16f877a

Hi,
My question is about programming pic16f877a microcontroller.
Please tell me that normally on serial port transmit(Tx) and Receive(Rx) pins are
used to send or receive program to and from controller but in all programmer
schematics i observed that DTR,CTS, RTS pins are used while programming the
controller and Tx pin is used to provide programming voltage
y not TX or RX pins are used to send or receive program like in atmel controllers.

Thanx in advance.

Awaiting for reply........

what is the programmer used to program pic16f877a

you may use a MAX232 for your design, we also used this method to interface our pc to our PIC16f877a... u can code it using mikroC
