Hi,

Hint:
You say: 6 --> 110 --> something abc
In binary values the LSB is on the right side. Thus I'd do the same with the characters like "cba".
This helps to avoid confusion, but it does not change the result ....

The first solution is not optimized, thus it needs 4 AND paths
The second solution is optimized, thus needs only 3 paths.

I'd say both solutions give the same result, although I did not go through every single line...
