impedance measuring device

what would i need to measure impedance of transformers,i was led to believe it could be done by measuring the dc resistance + two thirds added,which gives the answer but don't know if that is correct.
 

Whoever told you that has probably electrocuted themselves by now.
Impedance is a complex thing, it does take into account the resistance but it can be a very small part of the overall measurement. You need to know the inductance, frequency and signal shape to make a proper calculation.
