Hello everyone
I want to know how to perform short circuit test for igbt

I see many of application notes from infineon, ti, St, microchip etc.
They just use comparator with input from shunt and fixed refrence.

If I spin 3 phase motor with my own designed inverter then does high speed comparator save igbt ? I do phase to phase short circuit then does it save igbt

If there is phase reversal in phases you need to handle that. Normally done by using
A/D measuring shunts so magnitude of current can be measured. Comparator is basically
single ended unipolar.

Here is example where total inverter current is trigger, rather than each individual phase
being monitored. But one could modify so shunt in each leg and A/D or comparator looks
at that for any leg that exceeds IGBT rating. But A/D / Comparator would have to be fast
enough to mange all legs in < time for individual IGBT withstand time.
