technical project ideas

Hi all,

A bit of background first. We, at our work place, annually hold a night for science. What we do is that all the guys at the office work together to produce demos out of their current research work and present them to general public in a fancy yet informative way.
Just to give You a hint what i am talking about, last year we created a sound boom box. We had a network of two PCs (barebones) and we trying to synchronize their clocks. The synch pulses from the two pcs were connected to the two inputs of a stereo speaker. Thus, when the clocks were synchronized, the synch pulses came out at the same time and speakers , who were facing each other, gave rise to something familiar to a constructive interference ie. a big boom of sound. Similalry two ouf of synch clocks would give something similar to a destrctive interefernce and one would ideally hear no sound at all.

We have the same event again his year and we again have, along with other things, the network od Two PCs with some synchronization protocol running.
Can some one propose a fancy idea which is appealing to general public while also helping them to understand about clock synchronization in networks.
