libmanager

In IC5.0.33, when selecting menu "Edit / Library Path..." from Library Manager's main menu, an error dialog displayed:
TITLE of Dialog: Read Only File
Messages: The file "/home/icdesign/cds.lib" is not edit locked.

Then the "Save" item under Library Path Editor's "File" menu is greyed out.

But the cds.lib file is editable with vi.

What's the problem?

cadence removing cds lck

You can edit it manualy!

I believe this is a new "feature" from Cadence.

I had to play a trick in order to go back to be able to save it like IC5.0.

My company had to pay $$$ to get this info.

&!*$ !

edit it by "vi".
use "find" to check "*.lck" file under your directory, remove it.
new "feature", i don't think so.

Thank you all.
I know I can edit it by vi, but I want to know why libManager treats it readonly. I will try z81203's method. Thank you.

I have search my home directory and /tmp director (and their sub-directories) for '*.lck' files, but have found no such files.

just check the directory that your cds.lib indicated. who could have *.lck in your project library.

In the library path editor window, go to (I don't have IC50 with me now) Edit (?) manu, there should be a "Unlock ..." (?) like command (Just browse through all the manus), just select that command.

You are right. Thank you!

There is a "Exclusive Lock" menu item under the "Edit" menu of Library Path Editor. Select it, then I can save the modifications.
