I need a suggestion in low power circuit design

Hi everybody
I am going to have a research in a topic related to Low power ic design techniques.
Is there anyone which have any idea to suggest me to persue?
I'd like to find a proper topic to reaearch about and gain a good insight in this issue and finally report all attempts in this research to my teacher on this semester course as final project report in "Low power Ic Design" course.

You are probably best starting with the main chip manufactures sites like Microchip and Atmel.

Low power is one of their key objectives and publish many papers on such designs.
