hi i am new in VHDL programming.
basically i am doing a project that take a serial data from the RFID reader and display out.
this RFID serial data is in digital form and it just have 1 data pin out with contain 10bit (1 start bit, 1 stop bit and 8 data bit).
so does anyone know how to write the VHDL code that take this data and show out the 8 data bit in each of the I/O pin in this board which connect to the LED to represent the data.
the data bit is already fix in the RFID tag.

Re: grab serial data

You can use a buffer that read the whole 10-bits length data, then chop the intermediate 8-bits into another register, then display it as you want..

VHDL code for this is very simple..
