Hello experts,
Here DOF stands for Degree Of Freedom which often appears in control system design related document. I am confused about its definition. Anyone could explain it in a simple way?
Thanks in advance.
[a]
Any of the minimum number of coordinates required to specify completely the motion of a mechanical system.
Any of independent thermodynamic variables, such as pressure, temperature, or composition, required to specify a system with a given number of phases and components.
[c]
The number of degrees of freedom in a problem, distribution, etc., is the number of parameters which may be independently varied.
Within the viewpoint of contorl systems theory a degrre of freedom og a controller specifies that a controller can be divided in subcontrollers (each one of the is a degree of freedom) this subcontroller process especifical inputs of a controlled system.
This book is excellent!!. It is well presented and easy to understand. It did not assume that the reader knows the basic and explains the essence that is needed to follow through the subject
