How to turn 5v into 12v?

I am trying to activate a 12v relay (that is connected to the battery as well), but want to use a 5v source to do it. What will I need? Thanks in advance.
 

You need a step-up converter ..
Attached is an example based on the LM2577 ..

Why cant you go for 5v relay that is redly available in the market, instead of boosting the 5v and making the circuit big and costlier.
