Hi Guys,

I have designed a opamp. Can anyone please suggest how do I test whether my design meets the 3-sigma requirement?

I ran montecarlo sims. But dont know exactly how to calculate 3-sigma. Please help!

Thanks in advance

If you got a 1-sigma yield, use the 68-95-99.7 rule to find the 3-sigma yield, i.e. a (e.g.) 68.3% 1-sigma yield corresponds to a 99.7% 3-sigma yield (9973/6827 ≈ 1.46) -- normal distribution assumed.

Thanks erikl, This explanation is more mathematical/probability theory. Could you tell me, as a designer how do you calculate it using cadence/any spice tool?

Anyone who whats to add more details, please do so. Thanks in advance!

Thanks erikl! I am running cadence DCmatch sims, its kind of giving me the 3 sigma results that i was looking for.
