Hi,

Suppose I am receiving an analog signal from a sensor and would like to do a signal conditioning before passing to the ADC and eventually to either a microcontroller or PC.

How should I segregate the analog and digital path and where should I segregate it? Can I put a resistor at the VCC output of a voltage regulator and take the output after the resistor as AVCC (Analog VCC) to supply for analog components whereas the VCC to supply for digital components?

Wat abt analog GND and digital GND?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Eric

Hi

If the noise and glitch of your Digital sources strongly decrease your analog circuit performance, you can easily separate their substrates', as done in many practical cases.

you need to read the book " Electronics Instrumentation" by fowler.

first seperating the analog GND and the digital GND is a good choice.
second, you can use two GND lines to shield the digital line.
