How to release ferrite transformers without break it

Hello, Guys
I want to release my ferrite core and get the bobbin, How can i do this?
the parts of the ferrite core are stuck together and when i try to release the core parts, it get broken.
please help

Go ahead and break it, and then reglue it with as little
J-B Weld as you can? The gap produced ought to be
trivial.

If you can detect that it was glue-assembled, then a
soak in paint stripper may get it apart. Of course that
might do nasty things to the bobbin....

Ferirte transformers are usually glued with epoxy resin. It will at least soften at elevated temperatures, allowing to pull the core parts apart without breaking it.

So, can i break it and extract the bobbin and then glue it again?
Is that affect on its operation in the SMPS circuit?

No, if you manage to keep it whole and don't hack up the bobbin.

Hi FvM, how much temperature shall be sufficient? Perhaps if the transformer is immersed in boiling water? Some other method to heat it up?

This will deppend on the Epoxy resin used! 100ºC may be sufficient to just soften it. I just found this:

I have good luck by soaking the part in gasoline {also known as petrol} for awhile..... Many other solvents such as acetone, alcohols, and so forth often work as well.... Whether the epoxy releases with heat, or with any given solvent depends upon it's exact composition.

The bobbins used to get a little soft, but wouldn't melt. Nonetheless, they were still quite usable. Boiling water is after all around 100'C and ferrite cores are made to work with higher temperatures as well.

I use a small butane flame, and run it along the ferrite. Use welding gloves to hold the piece. Ferrites come apart with good success - about 95%.
Alternatively a 100W solder iron can be used to heat up the ferrite,its a bit less successful.
