Does anybody have any ideas for how to motorize a potentiometer?

Bourns makes a motorized pot ( https://www.bourns.com/ProAudio.aspx?name=pamm see PRM16), but it can only handle .1W.

I'd like to have a motorized pot that can handle .5W, so I'm wondering if the only solution is to "roll my own" on this? Looks like the bourns one uses a geared 4.5V DC motor to control a dual-gang pot from the rear. Dual-gang makes sense, so one gang could be used in a servo type loop to know the pot's absolute position.

Any ideas?
