How to Measure Required Capacitor Value from KVAR ? Power Factor Correction

I am trying to Correct the Power Factor of my House AC Line System. If i find the KVAR of my AC system, its coming around 850KVAR. KVAR = how many Farads ?

Please can anyone help me in detail...

850 kVAr might be the reactive power of an industry plant or a residential quarter. Are you sure?

Its not KVAR its VAR i think. i have maximum load of 2000 Watts @ 230VAC and power factor 0.6. So i need Capacitors to correct the power factor. Please gimme some idea how much Farad Capacitors should i use ?

Formula is C=Q/(2*pi*f*U^2), so for Q=850VAr, f=60Hz and U=120V, result C=156microF. Need special capacitor(s) able to support minim 2x voltage, coresponding current and able to disipate developed internal heat.

Respectively 120 µF for 230 VAC. But why do you want to compensate reactive power? A private home isn't charged for it.

I heard that all our Home energy meter's are charged on AMP's which we consumed they don't monitor the PF. in india. So......

Most places in the world do not take PF into account when charging residential customers. Industrial is another matter.
