Hello,

In my design , there are 2 kinds of modules :some only working at a specific time(controlled by FSM) and then never being active again , the others keeps working as long as the power being on.

How to estimate the total power? And how does the power estimator know the first kind of module only work for some specific short time?
Please explain in detail for a tyro, thanks!

For an accurate power estimation, you will simulate your design and save the toggling activities, then this info will indicate when and which modules consume power.

thanks, you give me an useful outline. and any further materials or links?

You just to follow the guideline from prime time xp for example, EPS could do it also.
