Re: Home acoustics treatment

Depends on how do you define best sound.
Acoustical treatment of a room is done to achieve or to avoid an effect as echo, delay, frequency response.
First you have to find WHAT needs alteration. HOW do you do that ?
If you follow YOUR ears the result will be YOUR taste; which does not mean best sound; but YOUR best sound.

If the program material is lectures or classical music or punk rock, there will be different arrangements preferred.

If you prefer reverberation, replacing carpet with marble floors will do it; but still does not mean that is best sound.

If you want more bass, re-positioning the sub-woofer to a corner can do it, but only means that is YOUR best sound.

It's your money, make the sound please you the way you want.
