How to do channel routing to reduce the number of layers?

hi all,

I am using 2 BGA's with more than 1000 pins in my board and the board is also so dense. i am using allegro. my clients r asking me to reduse the no of layers as much as possible. some where i studied using channel routing we can reduse the no of layers. please can any one explain me how to do channel routing & can u provide some documents for the same.
