Re: Linearity Analysis
Hi samiran_dam,
(1) If you like to visualize linearity/non-linearity you could do a dc analysis in order to evaluate the transfer characteristic (input-output relationship);
(2) If you like to quantify the degree of non-linearity (which is expressed as total harmonic distortion THD in %) you must do a TRAN analysis using a clear sinusoidal input. As mentioned before, you should allow at least 50...100 periods. Because of non-linear effects, the output signal is not sinusoidal anymore (however, perhaps you cannot detect it by visual inspection). In addition to the main frequency component fo there will be new frequencies at m*fo (m=2....n) which determine the THD.
This non-linearity measure THD can be computed by the simulation program (look for FFT or "spectral analysis" or something like this - it depends on the simulator engine).
