They are 8051(RISC) & PIC(CISC).8051 are manufactured by ATMEL whereas PIC(Programmable Interface Controller) are manufactured by MICROCHIP.For beginners it wud be easier to learn 8051 first & then go for PIC as it is complex than 8051.
