Basically controllers are classified to CISC(Complex Instruction Set) & RISC(Reduced Instruction Set) architecture according to their architecture. There are 2 sets of controllers in general. They are 8051(RISC) & PIC(CISC).8051 are manufactured by ATMEL whereas PIC(Programmable Interface Controller) are manufactured by MICROCHIP.For beginners it wud be easier to learn 8051 first & then go for PIC as it is complex than 8051. So locate some nice tutorials for 8051 & PIC from goole.Start learning & post your doubts here.Check out in Wikipedia too or more info.Good luck mate......!!!!!!!!
