Hello.
Please tell me how to definition VCO gain. thanks!!

VCO gain is nothing but (fmax -fmin)/(vmax-vmin).

Where f is the output frequency and v is the control voltage of the vco.

amarnat

Gain is defined as just output over input. For vco output is frequency while input is voltage. So gain is dw/dv .It is specified in all VCO datasheet.

There are two concept here:

1) VCO loop gain
2) VCO gain

1)The loop gain is the actual Vin/Vout that we all know. It is similar to the amplifier gain.

2) VCO gain however is what amarnath has said. It's unit is Hz/Volts

Cheers
