Hello all,

We have an circuit which produces 4V/20mA as output thru PIC 18F46K22. This O/p to be given as I/p to a Analog Fuel Gauge meter which needs 4V/500mA. Help us to step up the same.

Hello all,

We have an circuit which produces 4V/20mA as output thru PIC 18F46K22.

Do you mean Output of PIC with 4V/20mA ?

So the power is 80mW, you cant step up the power 2000mW(4V/500mA)

You cannot provide the fuel gauge with enough power directly from the PIC. You can use the PIC to implement a digital switch by using a BJT.

What you need is a power operational amplifier. Connect a PNP/NPN transistor "pole" after an opamp to get the required current. Details you can find among audio power amplifiers

Or find another display that needs less current to operate.
