How to connect to PC and program TMS320lf2407

I need it also, there're programmers for TMS series but they're very expensive. Homemade stuff is suitable for students like me!

yes I agree, please experts share a good homemade stuff for the TI dsp's

Hi,
I had recently used the serial flash programming utility from Ti.

My DSP board did not have an RS232 level shifter and hence had to make an external one. The schematics of that board is attached.

Next while programming the DSP, the consistency was poor. Very ofter the programming would abort with the following error.

"Echo Received didn't match Transmitting data.
Error transmitting data. Transmitting blocks of data."

I thought it was some Noise problem, but finally that wasn't.
It was a software problem in TI's serial flash down loader.

I had to re-write the PC part of the downloader as the source is not available and patch the DSP algo's at one or two places.

I have also included the soruces, just incase you run into the same problem.

Good Luck.

Sibi
