fpga thermostat

hi,
please does anyone know how a thermostat would be connected to an fpga.
i am supposed to implement vhdl codes on an fpga that run a 7 day clock timer and does certain functions like turning on/off related to the temperature on a thermostat.
does anyone know how the thermostat would be attached to the fpga device or how them 2 are supposed to be connected to each other.
Please let me know if there are any ports on the thermostat that could be connected to the fpga?
Also please any suggestions of the type of thermostat i should get for my fpga prototype. maybe digital or manual or programmable thermostats and does this really matter? Looking for cheap solutions so be very kind. Thanks

Re: fpga thermostat

I know some who can do this connecting of a thermostat to a fpga. He is the one that I called to connect my thermostat to a Field-programmable gate array. I will make some conversation to him tomorrow If i will remember this tomorrow I will tell him to see this .
