I need to check the stability of a circuit in HSPICE.

How do I do the simulations for checking the stability of my circuit?

Do I have to break the loop? or
Could I do the AC analysis of the circuit without breaking the loop?
For getting the phase and gain margin do I have to break the loop?

If it's possible, explain step by step.

Thanks in advance

Re: Stability

Hello,

I do not know Hspice but for sure to study the stabilty of your system, you need to break the loop and simulate the open loop transfer response of your system.
Plot the bode diagrams (gain and phase) to get the phase margin and gain margin to see whether your system is stable or not.
Hope this helps.
