In Power Compiler , it propagates switching activity through the unannotated portions of your design .

How does PowerCompiler calculate the output switching activity if we only know the input switching activity ???

For example , a 2 input XOR gate , if the switching activity is 0.1 of input A and
0.2 of input B, then what is the switching activity of outupt Z ??

It calculated as follows:

Switching activity of clock signal is clock frequency.

Switching activity of data signal is 50% of clock frequency.

Do you mean all the data signals have the same switching activity(50% of clock freq) ???

But it seems ecah net has its only switching activity from Power Compiler report.

hi, the output Z has 0.15 switching rate.

hi , qingliliu :
Could you tell me how to calculate the output switching rate ??
