ASIC power analysis

Hello Guys,

Has anyone of you got an idea about how much power a 1.5 million gate device, running at 50 Mhz consume? The technology could be 0.13 or 0.18.

What are the rough power consumptions of the devices you are working on?

Many thanks...

ASIC power analysis

~130Mhz.. gate count--1.5-2 million gates. power budget-300-500mW

Re: ASIC power analysis

thanks whizkid,
whats the technology? 0.13 or 0.18?

Also what the the relationship of power with frequency

Sorry . I use TSMC .13u process (single Vth).
Switching Power is directly proportional to frequency.(ACV^2 f)
where C is net capacitance , V is supply voltage and f is frquency. A is switching activity
