Some of the capacitors commonly used are as follows:
- Air dielectric capacitors, like the ones used in tuning of radio stations.
- Paper dielectric capacitors, used in motors to shift the phase.
- Plastic film capacitors like polyster, polypropelene, polystyrene,teflon,mylar etc.,
- Mica capacitors
- Ceramic Capacitors
- Electrolytic capacitors - Aluminium Electrlytic and Tantalum capacitors
- Varactor Diode capacitors used in high frequency tuning circuits.
