1. Like digital IC design using VHDL/Verilog, is there any particular programming language for analog IC design. If so, what are those? where we have to program?
Fully custom design for analog...
We dont have tools for generating the layout like verilog in ANalog design..first of all, transistor is not at the same size..it's accordign to the need of it, wheter to be diode, resistor or capacitor it sellt
In Analog device matching is very vital...LAyout usually drawn by the designer itselft using spec from the netlist...summary: Analog design need to be accurate and roboust b coz it's the interface for real world(analog) and processing unit(digital@comp)
2. What are the tools used for analog IC design? what are the features and specifications?
Usually the tools is similar to digital, starting from MATLAB for the architecture to meet the spec, to transistor netlist (usually Star_Hspice) then to LAyout.
Cadance Virtuoso is good tools...
The features and spaec is according to the demand, if it's for comm device then high speed is the aim with moderate resolution...
If it's for sensing or medical...then high precission and resolution is more concern than the speed
The challange is to get high speed and high resolution device...people are working on it nowadays.
3. After designing analog system IC in PC using some specified tools, how can it be fabricated?
Using the same fab like digital, no difference..only the masking is differ
4. What abt temperature, noise and other analog parameters considerations in designing an analog IC.
Serious measure must be taken..back to the precission fact..now Analog is more to mixed signal design..people try to detect different from maybe a blood cell with few micron volt, then our amplifier must be able to sense that and must be able to amplify it the the level that can be processed by digital device..for example
