homebrews cpld

Dear all,

I have some PLDs such PAL16L8 and PAL20L8. Does anybody have homebrew programmer for PALs ? It seems not available on the web ?

Regards,
Bill Lee

They are only for GAL devices, not for older PAL device.

Thanks,
Bill Lee

I used to built one 20 years ago base on appleII computer, it's quite complicate required numbers of of multi-state logic 0v/5v/12v/Hiz pins (8-10 pins) and PAL is one-time programable you may waste lots of chip before the programmer will work.

We can use GAL to simulate the PAL function since it can be reprogrammable. Once the design is finished. We can convert it into PAL.

But so far, there is no homebrew PAL programmer available on Web.

Regards,
Bill Lee
