The “smart house” is based on the PLC from WAGO. It allows you to control 100 electrical circuits and performs events initiated by 90 digital inputs. Eventually, beyond the control of lighting, shutters and valves in the distribution of central heating, you can add the control of watering the garden and the entrance gate. You can also connect the driver with the furnace.
The system allows to control 98 bit outputs and converts information from 90 bit inputs and 4 analog inputs.
Light and shutters control is done by normal wall switches HAGER POLO. In addition, several visualizations were prepared, that are accessible by the browser or application CoDeSys. The visualizations can control the number and location of turning on the lights, the position of shutters and garage doors, room temperature and current consumption.

The main element of the system is a PLC WAGO No. 750-841, which has a built-in Ethernet interface and real-time clock. Programming is done using the CoDeSys application, which in turn allows you to create programs in IL, ST, SFC, FBD and LD.
Digital/bit inputs are supported by octuple modules 750-430. Analog inputs in quadruple module 750-460-003 are adapted to the temperature sensors based on the PT1000 element. The analog outputs are supported by octuple modules 750-530.

The system consists of:
  • power supplies: 787-612 (powers the devices and sensors) and 787-602 (powers the PLC driver)
  • driver 750-841
  • one module of digital inputs and outputs 750-400 and 750-501, obtained in the starter kit
  • 11 input modules 750-430
  • 12 output modules 750-530
  • 1 analog input module 750-460-003

Cables
All the cables are distributed in the floor, in a single “bus”, from which cables spread out to individual rooms in the form of tree branches. Cables for lighting are stretched on the ceiling (the attic floor).

Driver
Starter kit from WAGO is really cheap and useful. It includes network driver 750-841 (with built-in function of network communication and real-time clock), power supply, one double bit input module, one double bit output module, the final module, power supply 24 VDC, configuration cable and CoDeSys software with libraries.
Beyond the starter kit you have to buy 8 eightfold bit inputs modules, 8 eightfold bit outputs modules, one quadruple analog inputs module adapted for PT1000 temperature sensors, an additional 24V power supply, 60 relays 24VDC/230VAC.

Heating control
The system controls separately the heating in every room. In the distribution of water from the furnace, from which tubes spread that power each of the heaters, actuators that operate on 24 VDC were mounted.
Tiny temperature sensors can be found on LINK.
The sensors are placed in wall switches' frames.
