Hi all!

I'm a beginner in HFSS. The first thing I'm trying to do is simulate a simple monopole Lambda/4 antenna with an infinite ground plane. I have a problem with this, I'll resume what I've done:
- I've drawed a 2D plane, and then substracted a circle.
- Then, I've drawed a coaxial line. The outer cylinder has the same dimensions that the 2D circle.
- I've drawed a cylinder of length Lambda/4 at the frequency of interest. The radius of the monopole is the same of the inner cylinder.
- At last, I've defined the coaxial as port 1, the plane as infinite ground plane and an air box as radiation.

My problem is that HFSS says that the infinite ground plane does not lie completely on the OUTER boundary. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for your help and time!

Miguel

the problem is that your ground plane would never lie on the background if you habe the drawed coax. line behind it

i hope it helps
