Help with Spartan 3e ethernet comunication

Hi friends!

I'm new in the fpga's world, and I have a work to do (university). I just have to comunicate the FPGA with a switch, using SMSC LAN83C185 (using spartan 3E starter kit), and I'll have to write my own code. I just have to send a package and read it again. Here in Brazil we don't have many fonts to search about this. So, can you guys help me?
