Hi all,
i have a problem that i have an electronic circuit powered with 5 dcV.
when i connect adapter 5 dcV and measure input socket voltage it reads only 0.94 dcV why this drop occurs ?
please help
thanks alot

Re: help please

if the adapter is good then it shows that your
device has some sort of short or heavy load .

first check that your adapter will produce 5v even at the full load current.
if it is working allright then
you have to find fault in the device only

This is normal only if the load is operative i.e. if you connect a motor the load is very small and if you measure it with an ohmetter it would read less than an ohm. So if you want to connect it with a power source with a short circuit protection I persomnally have faced this situation plus from your readings your load needs more than 5 A for you to operate this load. Be very careful and pay attention that your power source does not heat up!

Thanks All
Actually i tested the adapter on another working circuit and it works good.
there's a defect in the circuit but what's it ?
Best Regards,

Alaa

hello eng.alaa_bio,

..there's a defect in the circuit but what's it ?

without seeing your circuit diagram how to tell
where the problem is?
