hi guys,
i have nt sure how to solve this problem:
The network in Figure 1 below consists of three routers and a number of client
personal computers. Several separate local area networks (LANs) are formed and
all of the LANs have a common network prefix 223.100.10.X.
refer the attached picture

(1)How many separate LANs should be formed? Allocate IP addresses to all
network elements and give their netmask. Make sure each of the LANs has
a unique network ID.

(2)Explain what happens when host A needs to send a packet to host B,
assuming host A knows the IP address of host B. [6 marks]

(3) Suggest the range of IP addresses for the network elements if CIDR is
used.

thanks alot guys

Re: LAN questions

You can have following IP addresses for Router WAN ports

Net ID:223.100.10.0 255.255.255.252

Net ID:223.100.10.4 255.255.255.252

Net ID:223.100.10.8 255.255.255.252

Net ID:223.100.10.12 255.255.255.252

And you can also use
Net ID:223.100.10.16 255.255.255.248 for Network B and its route LAN port

Net ID:223.100.10.24 255.255.255.248 for Network A and its route LAN port

Isuranja
