rlogin

when I rlogin try1 (try1 is a solaris 8 OS machine),
it comes the following erros:
whoami: Command not found
whoami: Command not found
setenv: Too many arguments

whoami and setenv are command in my home directory/.cshrc
But when I source ~/.cshrc, it has no such errors.

And when I rlogin a Linux machine, it also has no such errors. All seems normally.

I am very anxious.
Who can tell me the resaon, How to work out the issue?

Re: rlogin

hi
do u have user account on the solaris machine (try 1) where u r trying to connect....???

Re: rlogin

If the setenv is not working, the system will not know where to look for all the other commands. If after the rlogin to the Sun you do get in, type env and check the PATH statement. It must have at least /usr/bin in the PATH.
It may be your remote terminal software is not set up for a Solaris system.
eg if your terminal software has a command option when loggin in, try :

(/usr/openwin/bin/xterm -fn 6x13 -sb -ls -display %IP#% -name %T% &)
