Help me design Engineer's assistant (from Microchip AN689)

I am building the Engineer's Assistant, as described on Microchip AN689.

It is a 16F84 based handheld instrument that has the following functions:
Frequency meter up to 50 MHz
Logic probe
Logic state analyzer
Serial code receiver

Anyone built it?
Any suggestion?
Problems?
