Hello,
I've been unsuccessful trying to identify this component :
44-pin QFP packaging
labelling : 2 lines
line 1 : 9820GBC
line 2 : 31582406
Comes from a step motor coding unit.
To me it should be a sort of micro-controller
Please see picture

I will really appreciate your help, in particular getting the data sheet

Thank you

i agree with, its a MCU..,
sometime datasheet for the part number is not available online, just because the component was manufactured intended for a certain electronic company for a certain purpose and not for open market.

9820 probably means it was made in week 20 of 1998 but it bears no manufacturers ID and the other number is almost certainly a stock number rather than a part number.
You stand very little chance of finding a data sheet or even a generic number for it. Quite possibly it is a custom part and only the original manufacturer would have the information you want.

Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer of the equipment it comes from and ask them if they can help.

Brian.
