gsm\gprs modem problem

i have connected my gsm modem with computer using hyper-terminal but here is a problem on windows xp the hyper-terminal when i opened the window when i try to write any command there is no letters wrote on screen..
i.e; if i try to write any thing the screen is white always , so i try another xp windows but the problem is still exist , so can any one help me .
hint: my gsm/gprs type is (Siemens - sinaut md720-3)
 

are read manual? Are you set correct baudrate and handshaking?

yes i have already do these steps successful.
 

Check the cable itself, it may be defective. Also, check that the MODEM is powered correctly and, that the power didn't drop.
