Hey guys,

I'm looking to start designing and building PCBs. I'm looking for a good solution for designing the schematic and converting it into PCB router where I can then make it.

In school I used Multisim (but didn't use Ultiboard).

From flipping through the different forums it seems that not many people use/prefer Multisim.

I'm looking for a good solution, but I haven't had the chance to play with Proteus, Eagle, Allegro, etc and I'm not very familiar with these.

Which is a good solution to begin in and give me some room a I get better and build bigger boards?

Thanks. I appreciate it.

Kicad is free and open-source. Being a Proteus and Eagle user in the past, Kicad is quite capable of dealing with both in the pcb and footprint sense.
