I was given a GLCD 12864 brand new. Datasheet not available on the Web

A and K terminals are clearly identified. Tried to measure something but to no avail: no resistance, no forward drop voltage.

Is it any chance that mine has EL backlight instead of a LED?

What other test could I perform?

Hi,

A & K sounds like LEDs to me.

Don't have that display to hand, but measuring a couple of other backlights you just get hi resistance - probably because its a multiple led system.

I would just test it with say 3v via a 100 ohm resistor - that should illuminate slightly; ideally in line with your ma meter, it should be around 50ma

Just attached a pdf to show it can be done.
