dear all
please can any one specify for me links and downloads for getting started with linux (fedora for example )
i am starting from scratch and need a hand
and the same for unix
 

i suggest **broken link removed**for beginning Linux
here is a good complete book for about 10 different linux distributions!

first thank you for the book i took the advice of ubunto but i face a problem that non of my drives open in it

I agree. Ubuntu is good for a beginner. You can run it from a CD without the installation.
