FTP server problem(cant connect).

I am using FTP protocol for communication with the server.I can ping that server and getting reply.but that ip address doesnt run with if i open it with FTP client test tool or web browser ([URL='ftp://username:password@ipaddress).What could be the problem?

Most likely, there's no FTP server running (at least not using the standard FTP port) at the device with the given IP.

Less likely, but feasible, the FTP server might filter certain client IPs or IP ranges.
 

I can connect with SFTP protocol but not with FTP
 

Not unusual that a FTP server accepts only secure FTP. If you don't have administrative access to the server, there's nothing you can do about.
 

server is configured as SFTP.but want to use ftp...can i configure server as FTP,something like that.
 

Usually, both protocols can be enabled separately.
