Hello guys, I need some help. I'm making a simulation by FDTD fullwave of coupling between a straight waveguide and a bent waveguide to know how does it works, for a ring resonator notch configuration.
The ring radius is 20 um and the structure is a silicon on insulator without any covering.
I have some questions to make:
1 which index i must give to the straight and bent waveguide into a 2D model? and to the background? I also know the effective index of two guides when it can be useful...
2 how large must be the computing domain? It's enough consider a distance for the two monitors that makes the electric field neglectable?
3 which kind of monitor I could use to obtain the coupling coefficients (the ones that i use into the ring resonator model), power or overlap?
Thanks to everyone will give me help.
