Firefox 1.5 on RedHat 8

Hi ALL,

I downloaded firefox 1.5 to work with it on RedHat 8. When I tried to run it, I received the following error:

"./firefox-bin: /lib/i686/libpthread.so.0: version `GLIBC_2.3.2' not found (required by ./libnspr4.so)"

Is there a solution ?

try to find the rpm that has the file reqired, google 'libpthread.so.0'
i did a quick search , try this link
http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.0)

this link should contain the rpm for ur distribution , download and install.

You need a newer version of glibc. To download it try for example http://rpm.pbone.net

Try to install the new versions of GCC and GLIBC.
Actaually you better upgrade all of your base packages.
