hello, is it possible to find what coding does a PAl ic consists of. If possible can anyone tell me the way to find out the code inside PAL. i have to work on pal 16v8 and pal 22v10.
PALs can be read out by a programmer if the security bit isn't set. Otherwise all fields in the jed file except for the signature will be read as unprogrammed. Just try.
A jed file has a fairly understandable mapping to product term and configuration bits.

The bitposition of each configuration bit is shown in many PAL and GAL datasheets. I presume you understand how logic is implemented by enabling product term bits.
If you happen to be working with an Altera part, the following software might help...but it is from 1994 and talks about DOS and extended memory, things I've long since cared about so the software (if you can find it), might not even work on today's computers. **broken link removed**
