Hi All,

We are using VERIBEST PCB Design software for PCB layout design. Could anyone tell me what are the files to be needed for fabricate the PCB after generating Gerber files?
If you could help it would be appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Ask the company (that will make your PCB) what files you must send to them.

Normally all the layer.gbr files (signal + silkscreen top, bottom, drill files,...

You have to provide the following gerber files :

Assume your layout is double sided pcb

1.) Top layer artwork
2.) Bottom layer artwork
3.) Top layer solder mask
4.) Bottom layer solder mask
5.) Drill drawing
6.) Top layer silkscreen
7.) Bottom layer silkscreen

( All files are in gerber file format!! )

Before start generate gerber files, you should add :

1.) height & width to your pcb outline and included in e.g drill drawing layer
2.) Add markers and layer name to avoid the pcb vendor mirror the image by accident.

These are the basic requirement and rules.

Hi,

In addition to the above find this link,**broken link removed**,
Check this sites also,it seems good,**broken link removed** & **broken link removed**

Hope this will help you.

I sent Silkscreen, Solder mask, Routing layer and Drill files. But the PCB fabricator needed Extended Gerber files. Can anyone knows about that? How should I change this files to extended Gerber files?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
what version of gerber did you use?
if you 274X version i think it is ok. and you should use NCdrill file aslo.

Hello Rajkumar,

Gerber data is a simple, generic means of transferring PCB
information to a wide variety of devices that convert the electronic PCB data to
artwork produced by a photoplotter.
Virtually every PCB CAD system generates
Gerber data because all photoplotters read it. It is a software structure consisting
of X,Y coordinates supplemented by commands that define where the PCB image
starts, what shape it will take, and where it ends. In addition to the coordinates,
Gerber data contains aperture information, which defines the shapes and sizes of
lines, holes, and other features.

Gerber Format, which is the format in which Gerber data is expressed, actually is
a family of data formats that are subsets of EIA Standard RS-274D.

Extended Gerber Format, which is also called RS-274X, provides enhancements that handle polygon fill codes, positive/negative image compositing, and custom apertures, and other features.

RS-274X is a superset of the EIA Standard RS-274D format. RS-274X supports
some of the parameter data codes (G codes) and aperture codes (D codes)
contained in RS-274D, as well as codes referred to as mass parameters.

Hello,

Yes....Here you go...

When exporting drill files, if you are working in English units, the coordinates and tool sizes are in inches and the number form is 2.4 meaning the 6 digit coordinate has two numbers before the decimal and 4 after the decimal.
When workining in Metric units, the coordiate and tool sizes are in millimeters and the number form is 3.3.
