Field Application Engineer_Taipei
Job Description
Provide post sales customer support for LSI Logic storage products used in Dell server platforms
being developed at Dell ODMs in Taiwan. This includes technical consultation, design assistance
and extensive lab debug during new product integration and test. Products support focused on
Storage components, HBAs and RAID controllers. There is also a requirement to provide
program management to align four different Dell ODMs that will require triage, synchronization
and coordination between these sites as well as with US based Dell ADC and US based factory
sites.
Requirements/Qualifications(Education)
-B.S. Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent EE background._
- Minimum 5 years experience in Computer / Storage._
- Experience with C language programming and embedded processor programming._
- Experience in test and debug of hardware / software of computer system related products_
- Knowledge of OS RAID and/or HBA storage drivers (especially Windows NT / Linux) a plus._
- Knowledge of Storage related technology including RAID, SAS, SATA, SCSI and PCI
protocols and applicable analyzers_
- English and Chinese languages: Good written and verbal skills in both._

- Managing the supplier quality aspects related to sheet metal injection molded plastics,
Printed Circuit Boards, disk drives, power supplies, cables and electronic components_
- Work with Mechanical engineering, Logic Design Engineering and SCM buyers to provide
supplier with correct LSI criteria_
Requirements/Qualifications (Education)
- Four year degree in engineering or equivalent experience in the Quality engineer Field_
- Track supplier quality through DPPM goals_

Firmware development engineer for overseeing and supporting the development of diagnostic
and product test related firmware used in testing LSI storage board & system products during
manufacturing. The person in this position will oversee and coordinate FW development done by
LSI’s ODM partners, and provide maintenance and support of the resulting firmware. The person
will participate in defining functions and interfaces, maintain source control, track problems, and
work with LSI’s ODM partners and Mfg Test Dev engineers to verify the firmware and resolve
problems. The person in this position will be a liaison between the LSI Manufacturing Test
Development group in North America and LSI’s ODM partners in Taiwan. The person will need to
have excellent communication skills in both Chinese and English_
